Channel Seven viewers were left in tears on Wednesday night when a beloved Home and Away character died in a hit-and-run.
Aussie actor Matt Evans, who plays Theo Poulos, left the series in dramatic fashion when his popular character was killed off in the brutal accident.
The incident followed the wedding of characters Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright) and Eden Fowler (Stephanie Panozzo), leaving fans mourning Theo’s death online.
‘Goodbye Theo, we’ll miss you,’ one person wrote.
‘Nooo not Theo!! My fave character,’ another said, as a third noted: ‘This one hurt more than saying goodbye to Irene.’
‘This hits hard like when Mason died. So sudden and out of the blue,’ added someone else.

‘Absolutely heartbreaking,’ one user wrote next to a broken heart emoji.
Theo died in a heroic moment when he threw himself in front of a speeding car to save his on-screen girlfriend, Lacey Miller.
Lacey is portrayed by Matt’s real-life partner Sophea Pennington.
In an emotional final scene, Theo’s aunt Leah Patterson-Baker (Ada Nicodemou) could be seen screaming and crying as she ran onto the crime scene.
She collapsed into the arms of her husband, Justin Morgan, played by her real-life partner James Stewart, as fans at home were left reeling.
Some refused to believe Theo was gone from the show for good, but actor Matt, 29, confirmed the heartbreaking news on The Morning Show the next day.
‘I’ll say if you were sad last night, tonight is going to be a whole ‘other level,’ he told hosts Kylie Gillies and Dr Chris Brown, who was filling in for Larry Emdur.
‘I think it was quite a shock for a lot of people. Like people knew a character was going to die, but they didn’t know it was really Theo.’

Matt’s character made his first appearance in Summer Bay in 2021 as Leah’s nephew, a troubled teen who turned up on her doorstep with a police escort.
In the wake of Theo’s death, Matt, who will be chasing career opportunities in the US, shared a goodbye message to Instagram, recorded on the day the crash was filmed.
‘Hey everyone, it is Theo here. Thank you so much for the last four years, what a wild ride!’ he said.
‘I’m here on my last day on set at the moment, just soaking it all in. I love you all so much, and keep enjoying and watching the show, and best wishes to all of you.’
