The Moving Target
Even before General Hospital put Drew Quartermaine to bed with his nephew’s wife, he was racking up enemies like it was his life’s work. But which of them went so far as to try to remove him permanently as a thorn in their side in the September 2 episode? Consider the many suspects below.

The Hotheaded Hitman
Jason Morgan may not have killed every reprobate in Port Charles, but the career criminal does have a real knack for unaliving people. These days, there’s no one he would like to rub out more than his evil twin, who ordered his son Danny arrested for taking half sister Scout to visit at the Quartermaine mansion. But Jason couldn’t have done the deed; he was in Croatia on the night in question.

The Husband Scorned
Does anyone have a better reason than Michael Corinthos to want to attend Drew’s funeral? His own uncle had an affair with his wife. Plus, Drew was threatening to send Michael up the river for a well-deserved “assault.” Since in addition to having motive aplenty Michael was spotted parked outside Drew’s on that fateful evening, he really needs to track down…

His Alibi
When the shooting was taking place, Michael was supposedly at the Port Charles Grill chatting up a blonde mystery woman… who just happens to be the hooker Nina and Portia hired to drug Drew. Could Jacinda have tried to kill Drew to ensure that her role in his ketamine scandal isn’t discovered?

The Protective Mother, Part 1
Having carried on with Drew herself, Nina Reeves knows all too well what a sleaze he is. And the way she sees it, he’s not only cost her her daughter, he’s cost her daughter her children! On top of all that, the night he was pumped full of lead, Nina had just been saying how he needed to be stopped once and for all!

The Protective Mother, Part 2
Carly Spencer saw shades of red that she didn’t even know existed when she learned that ex-lover Drew was schtupping her son’s wife. And not for nothing, but the Port Charles queenpin has been known to order a hit now and then.

The Disillusioned Ex
At long, long last, Willow understands that getting mixed up with Drew was the biggest mistake of her life — or anyone’s. But would she further risk permanently losing custody of Wiley and Amelia to wipe him off the face of the earth? Actually… maybe! And she did leave the hospital during her shift on the night that Drew was gunned down…

The Murderous Mobster
Sonny Corinthos is no stranger to sending his enemies swimming with the fishes. And if you mess with his family, as Drew has, fughedaboudit. The godfather of Port Charles — and father of Michael — will be quick to take you for a long walk off a short pier. That said, he seemed to be at the scene of another crime — Judge Heran’s murder — when this one was committed.

The Blackmailed Doctor
Drew did irreparable damage to Portia Robinson’s marriage to Curtis Ashford by forcing the doc to do his bidding… or else. She could have sought to ensure that the scum never pressed anyone else underneath his thumb — or, for that matter, used the blackmail material that he still possesses on her. And she and Nina did leave the Brown Dog without even finishing their drinks… Hmm.

The Thwarted Developer
Can’t spell “friend” without “end,” and since Drew blackmailed Curtis’ wife, their bond has been completely severed. Add to that the fact that Congressman Cutthroat has dunked Curtis’ Aunt Stella Henry in hot water, and… Yeah, Curtis could totally have been the one who attempted to, ahem, take out the trash.

The Busted Do-Gooder
Given that Stella’s on the hook for insurance fraud for helping Martin Grey get his physical therapy covered, she’d have every reason to want to send bad Samaritan Drew to the morgue — and to do her damnedest to see that his insurance didn’t cover the cost of a funeral, either!

The Patient With No Patience
Not only did Drew rat out Stella, he made Martin a person of interest in the insurance-fraud investigation and helped block the attorney from trying to represent the angel whose wings were clipped for taking pity on him.

The Baddest of Bad Guys
Once Jenz Sidwell decided that Drew had ceased to be an asset and, in fact, had become a liability, you could see the wheels turning above the master manipulator’s head… and rolling in the hot-headed pariah’s direction. And hey, it isn’t like Sidwell would be hesitant to have someone iced. Right, Judge Heran?

The Junior Achiever
Would Marco Rios go so far as to rub out Drew for dear ol’ Dad? As loyal as Marco is, perhaps — but he’d have to know that that wouldn’t sit well with straight-arrow boyfriend Lucas Jones. Also, Sidwell’s payroll is full of trained assassins who’d be a whole lot likelier to successfully “execute” the job than Marco.

The Aggrieved Grandma
Having been barred from seeing Scout by Drew, Alexis Davis could have added to her already impressive kill count by making him her latest fatal “oopsie.” And we know that she wasn’t home at the time of the shooting; daughter Kristina Corinthos came in looking for her, remember?
Photo : ABC screenshot
The Sister Act
Wildcard Kristina and half sister Molly Lansing could have seen removing Drew from this earth as a way to remove him as an obstacle to their relationships with Scout. But we know where Kristina was when the creep was shot, and Molly… a murderer? Nah.

The Livid Daughter
To say that Drew has run roughshod over Trina Robinson’s life would be an understatement. He did in her parents’ marriage, shined a spotlight on Aunt Stella’s good deed in such a way that it didn’t seem so good anymore, and even led her boyfriend astray. But we know that she didn’t shoot Drew; she was hiding in his bedroom and heard the gunshots.

The Fired-Up Apprentice
Kai Taylor thought that Drew walked on water — past tense. Since the young man lost Trina over his support for the congressman — and has seen him for the rat bastard that he is — Kai might have gone for the ultimate touchdown by tackling the lying liar in such a way that he never got back up. Except for one thing: Kai was hiding with Trina when the crime was committed.

The Mob Widow
Once married to the Mob — remember Gino Soleito from Loving spinoff The City? — Tracy could have called in an old debt in hopes of seeing that Drew’s branch of the Quartermaines’ family tree was chopped off permanently. Though she discovered him post-shooting, she could still have metaphorically pulled the trigger if she’d taken out a hit on her nephew.

The Phantom Menace
How thrilling would it be if it turned out that Drew’s “late” love Sam McCall wasn’t as dead as believed, and had snuck back into Port Charles to end his reign of terror? Pretty thrilling, right? The one flaw in that theory: Sam wouldn’t want to put Scout through the trauma of losing another parent.

The Last Person You’d Suspect
Someone who’s been off the canvas for some time could turn out to be the culprit. Someone we know, love and miss very much. And it would be quite a send-off for the legendary character.
