1. Vinny has second thoughts about the court case

Vinny worries about testifying against Mike in court, fearing that his marriage to Gabby will be destroyed if she finds out that he’s been questioning his sexuality and feelings for Kammy.
Things only get worse for Vinny when he finds out that Mike’s defence team plan to call Gabby as a witness. He lies to Gabby about what the case involves – then pulls out altogether in a last-ditch attempt to protect their relationship.
2. Kim also causes problems for Vinny

Vinny looks forward to officially adopting Thomas, but Kim stands in the way by raising objections.
Kim protests that Jamie would be erased from Thomas’s life if Vinny and Gabby go ahead with the idea. Vinny and Mandy persist with Kim, convincing her that it’ll mean the world to Thomas if he has a dad in his life.
3. Mike makes more demands

As Vinny and Gabby celebrate the latest adoption news, the mood turns sour as Mike returns to the village. He makes Vinny feel uncomfortable by slyly inserting himself into his life – and then demands further cash as “compensation”.
Vinny proposes a deal to Mike – he’ll speak in court and destroy the prosecution’s case, as long as Mike keeps Gabby out of it.
4. Gabby’s suspicions grow

Vinny hides his true intentions from Mike, as he plans to surprise him at the last minute by speaking the truth in court. However, Gabby starts to become suspicious about what this mystery court case entails and she’s frustrated when Vinny avoids chances to be honest with her.
Later, Laurel gives Gabby some home truths by reminding her that she’s hiding her own guilty secret after cheating on Vinny.
5. Vinny’s day in court takes a twist

When Vinny appears in court, he leaves Mike outraged by going back on his word and revealing the truth about his brutal crimes.
Suddenly, Gabby enters the public gallery, still full of curiosity and doubt over why Vinny is lying to her. Just as Vinny is about to speak openly about how he first encountered Mike on an LGBTQ+ forum and was questioning his sexuality, he spots Gabby there. Will he continue with his testimony?
6. Dylan’s attempt to stand up to Ray fails

Dylan is shocked to find April selling drugs outside some university halls. It’s clear that she’s getting deeper into Ray’s criminal world with every week that passes.
The concerned teen begs Ray to let April quit, but Ray manipulates him by claiming that he’ll have to run it past his “big bosses”. Before long, Dylan agrees to let April keep dealing after all – especially because he believes it’ll help them pay their debt off more quickly.
7. April’s secret life endangers Leo
ITV
April accidentally drops some pills from her bag while at home. She’s later horrified to see her younger brother Leo being taken into an ambulance.
Police and social services are informed that Leo has consumed drugs – and Rhona immediately suspects that April is to blame. April considers confessing everything, but when the police officers arrive, she flees.
Later, Ray fears for the future of his criminal empire as he hears April telling Dylan that she wants to tell the truth.
8. Robert reconnects with a face from the past

Mystery man Kev, played by former EastEnders star Chris Coghill, arrives in the village to see Robert. It turns out that Kev is an acquaintance of Robert from his time in prison.
When Victoria arrives home, she’s surprised to find Robert holding hands with Kev – since he’s supposed to be trying to reconnect with Aaron. Once Kev leaves, Robert braces himself for the inevitable grilling from Victoria.
9. Mack notices Charity’s strange mood

Charity continues to hide her secret worries about the baby, but the pressure is taking its toll.
When Mack notices that Charity is behaving strangely around Sarah, he questions her on the reasons why. Mack voices his theory that Charity believes Sarah is getting too excited about the baby at such an early stage, but Charity refuses to be drawn and changes the subject.
10. Celia is ordered to apologise
ITV
Celia can’t resist making a cruel joke about Paddy’s dog attack when they cross paths. Moira encourages her to make amends with the village favourite.
Later, Celia manages to charm Paddy into forgiving her.
11. Aaron feels guilty
ITV
After being distracted by his own worries recently, Aaron suddenly remembers that it’s Grace’s birthday.
Aaron feels terrible for briefly forgetting about his late sister. Can anyone talk him round?
