While the soap is yet to confirm the news about Kev being Robert’s husband, spoilers for next week’s episodes have already revealed that Kev will unexpectedly turn up on Robert’s doorstop.

Robert will bring Kev into Keeper’s Cottage where it becomes clear that the pair met in prison.

However, when Victoria comes home she is surprised to see Robert and Kev, who she’s never met before, holding hands.

Of course Kev’s arrival probably won’t sit well with RobRon fans, who were hoping for a romantic reunion between Robert and Aaron.

An Emmerdale source previously told us: “Robert wants to leave prison in the past.robert sugden, kev, emmerdale

“Rob’s hinted at struggling to survive in there, and Kev’s arrival is about to unearth everything he’s tried to keep secret from his loved ones…”

The source added: “Robert doesn’t look overjoyed to be reunited with Kev.

“We don’t know what he faced inside or what he had to do to get by. But if he and Kev were lovers, this might put a spanner in the works for any hope Robert has of reuniting with Aaron.”

Speaking about joining the Emmerdale cast, Coghill said in July: “I am really happy to be joining the cast of Emmerdale.

“Kev is definitely going to shake things up a bit and I’m looking forward to getting cracking!”

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
