Emmerdale reveals another cruel death twist tonight as Mack’s fate is confirmed

Emmerdale spoilers follow for Monday’s episode (8 September), which is available to watch now on streaming service ITVX and YouTube, and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

Emmerdale has confirmed what has happened to Mackenzie Boyd, after his attempt to escape the clutches of John Sugden failed.

In last week’s episodes, injured Mack took his chances and managed to flee the underground bunker evil John has been keeping him in.

It looked like Mack had finally got away, but John was aware of his movements and soon tracked him down – wielding an axe.

Fans feared that this really was the end of Mack now, so it came as a big surprise when in today’s episode, he was seen back in the bunker once again.

John paid him a visit and said that finding out his husband Aaron recently slept with Robert had only made them stronger as a couple.

Mack, growing increasingly weak, begged John to let him go, saying that he will disappear and won’t tell anyone about his ordeal in the woods.

But in a sinister twist, John handed Mack a syringe, seemingly containing a substance that will kill him.

“You want to stop the suffering,” he said, “you now have a choice to inject yourself. There’ll be no pain. You’ll just feel drowsy and drift off into a deep sleep. This is the last time you see me. I won’t be coming back again.”

As John exited the bunker for what could be the last time, terrified Mack was left forced to choose between a painful or painless death.
