Emmerdale’s doomed bride Gabby Thomas is destined for huge heartbreak on her wedding day next week, when her struggling hubby-to-be Vinny Dingle fails to show up at the church.
For months, Gabby’s been planning her dream day, completely unaware of her fiancé’s secret agony over his sexuality. But is she getting closer to the truth?

As the day begins, there’s a dark cloud hanging over the groom, with Vinny stressing over Mike’s blackmail threats. To make matters worse, best man Kammy Hadiq’s ill-advised attempt at revenge has riled Mike even further.
Meanwhile, the oblivious bridal party coo over Gabby’s dress as the beautiful bride makes her entrance, but there’s clearly something bothering her too. Risking wedding day superstitions, she heads over to see her groom.
Vinny’s heart pounds as Gabby tells him something is wrong, and has been for a long time. Does she suspect he’s been hiding something from her? Or has Mike carried out his threat to wreck Vinny’s happy family?

On the other hand, Gabby’s biggest concern all hinges on who’s going to walk her down the aisle! With all her mother figures – Bernice Blackstock, Laurel Thomas and Kim Tate – all vying for the critical job, Gabby actually has someone else in mind to take the symbolic role…
“She chooses Arthur to walk her down the aisle,” grins Rosie Bentham, who plays Gabby. “All the mother figures in her life are apprehensive about whether they’re going to do it!
“It’s very funny – they have their own reasons about why they think it should be them.”

With the wedding back on, rumours soon spread through the congregation that Vinny has disappeared. As the wedding guests begin to panic, Kammy leaves his best mate a heartfelt voicemail, urging him to face the music before he breaks Gabby’s heart.
Unaware of the drama unfolding, Gabby arrives at the church excited to make things official with Vinny. But an update from Kammy totally floors her…
“Gabby’s heart completely drops when Kammy says that Vinny’s nowhere to be seen,” explains Rosie. “If she knew what Vinny was going through, it would open some wounds, ones she was trying to heal from her last wedding…”
Once the guests are all gathered, ready for the ceremony, Gabby is devastated to learn Vinny is not there.
With all hopes of her happy ever after crushed, will Gabby be left broken-hearted once again on her wedding day? Or will Vinny make a last-minute appearance to tie the knot and keep his new wife in the dark?
