Theo tragically died this week, after getting run over by a car driven by Craig Wendell following Cash and Eden’s wedding.

While a big dramatic death is (almost) always a great way to bow out of a soap, Evans told Chattr that he would have liked a less final exit for Theo, and one in line with a lot of his storylines.theo poulos in home and away

“Well, originally, I wanted him to go and pursue a music career. That would have been really cool, but that story was already given to Kirby!” he said jokingly.

During his time in Summer Bay, a lot of Theo’s plot centred around being the lead singer of the band Lyrik, but in the end, he died saving his love interest Lacey.

Despite it not being a music career exit, Evans still thinks it’s a pretty good ending, stating: “I actually love that it was written that way. So it’s like, quite a heroic way to go out.

“But obviously, like, you know, I knew that I was going to be parting ways with the show, and once I saw the storyline, that Theo was going to be dying, I quite liked it, because I knew it was going to be a big, impactful story.

Addressing the fans, Evans said: “Thanks so much for the support over the last four years.

“I think a lot of that positivity and the appreciation for the character is what kept me going at some points as well. I really hope that you all enjoyed Theo as much as I did, and it was a really great chapter of my life.”

Looking ahead, Evans, who appeared on the Australian version of The Voice in 2020, said that acting was his focus over music at the moment.

“I’ve been back auditioning again, and just really enjoying that process for acting,” he shared. “I’m loving it, it just feels like it’s really aligning for me right now. That doesn’t mean that I’ll never go back to music, but at the moment, acting has been taking priority for me.”
