The Bold and the Beautiful Recap: October 28 — Taylor, It’s Not Brooke, It’s Ridge

In Monday’s The Bold and the Beautiful, Taylor Hayes once again found herself spiralling into familiar territory — blaming Brooke Logan for everything wrong in her love life. But after 30 years of romantic ping-pong between the two women, one thing is clear: the real problem isn’t Brooke. It’s Ridge.

Taylor’s Misplaced Blame

Taylor (Krista Allen) opened up to Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan), insisting that she’s different from Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and has “more self-respect” because she wouldn’t throw herself at Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye).

Cue the collective eye-roll from fans everywhere. Because really, Taylor? Viewers remember all too well how quickly she jumped into Ridge’s arms — and bed — the moment he had another fight with Brooke.

Taylor’s short memory conveniently erases her own emotional whiplash earlier this year, when she proposed to Ridge out of sheer fear of losing him to Brooke again. The self-awareness? Missing in action. The Bold and the Beautiful

Ridge: The Real Common Denominator

Let’s be honest — the “Taylor vs. Brooke” feud has been recycled so many times it could power Forrester Creations’ sewing machines. Ridge has been the driving force behind this love triangle since the early 1990s, flip-flopping between both women with all the commitment of a summer breeze.

Both Taylor and Brooke have built careers, families, and decades of memories outside of Ridge — yet time and again, they fall into the same toxic loop. Fans can’t help but wonder when one of them will finally break free for good.

The Friendship That Could Have Changed Everything

A few years ago, The Bold and the Beautiful did something fresh and brilliant: Taylor and Brooke finally realised Ridge wasn’t worth the heartache and became friends. It was empowering, funny, and gave both characters new depth.

Sadly, that truce didn’t last. The writers hit “reset,” and both women are back where they started — fighting for Ridge’s attention like it’s 1994.The Bold and the Beautiful's Taylor placed all the blame for her problems on Brooke | Image: CBS

Deacon’s Reality Check

While Deacon mostly played the supportive listener, fans noted his subtle amusement. He’s seen this all before and knows Ridge will always be Ridge — loyal to no one but himself. And frankly, Deacon might be the only one who sees the situation for what it is.

The Bottom Line

Taylor’s pain is real, but so is the pattern. Until she — and Brooke — realise that Ridge is the problem, not each other, they’re doomed to repeat history.

Maybe it’s time both women give themselves what Ridge never could: peace.
